Final Report: Recommended Guidelines Regarding Unauthorized Practice
of Law Issues in Mediation (2005)
| |
This is the 2007 final report
prepared by a subcommittee of the Colorado Bar Association (CBA)
ADR Section on the Unauthorized Practice of Law and
Mediation. The committee consists of Samuel Gordon, Susan
Demidovitch, Cynthia Savage, Anthony Van Westrum, James
Coyle and Mike Ruderman. This report has been worked on for
two years and is in its final form and now being submitted
to the CBA Executive Council.
While this report does not
have the force of law, following the advice contained within
should help non-lawyer mediators avoid the probability of
being liable for the unauthorized practice of law while
engaging in appropriate mediation conduct.
If anyone has questions or
comments they may direct them to Michael Ruderman at
mike@mikeruderman.com.
