Having presided on the Colorado county court bench for 26 years, Lynn has perfected his dispute resolution skills in a wide variety of areas, including homeowners associations, real estate, corporate and partnership dissolutions, commercial litigation, contracts, and employment discrimination. Lynn has excluded domestic relations from his practice.

Lynn’s 23 years as a mediator has provided him with experience applying the facilitative model; his 26 years on the bench provided him with the experience to conduct meaningful settlement conferences applying the evaluative model, offering clients a realistic view of their strengths, weaknesses and potential outcomes in court.

Lynn engaged in the private practice of law from 1974 to 1980. From 1981 through 1996, Lynn served as a part-time Small Claims Court magistrate, engaged in his private mediation practice, and taught business law and the UCC at the University Of Northern Colorado College Of Business. From 1996 to 2007, Lynn served as a Weld County Court Judge and as presiding chief judge for 9 of those years. In 2006, he was honored by the Colorado Judicial Institute to receive its Judicial Excellence Award. In 2007, Lynn retired from the bench due to macular degeneration, and resumed his mediation practice.

Lynn received his B.A. from Stanford University, and his J.D. from the CU School of Law. Lynn was a member of CCMO from 1981-1996, the MAC since 2011, the Colorado Judicial Institute Board of Directors since 2008, and currently serves as the chair of CJI’s ADR subcommittee.
