Elizabeth (Beth) Henson, Esq., is an attorney mediator whose practice is limited to family law mediation and appeals.

Beth understands that costs related to divorce and other family law matters can be daunting, but this shouldn't prohibit people from access to a skilled mediator.  Therefore, Beth offers a lower hourly rate for parties who haven't retained attorneys or are using attorneys only on a consulting basis.

In 2001, Beth left litigation and opened a full-time family-law mediation practice. She has conducted over 3,000 mediations in a variety of formats. She is very experienced in the process, as well as the nuances that contribute to a positive outcome. Beth is also a family-law attorney who is active in the Colorado Bar Association (she was on the governing council for the Family Law Section of the CBA from 2000 - 2013). The following are examples of some of Beth's credentials and accomplishments:

*          Named the Best Lawyers' 2016 Denver Family Law Mediation "Lawyer of the Year"

*          Selected for Inclusion in the 2007 through 2016 Editions of The Best Lawyers in America in Family Law Mediation

*          Selected as a Colorado Super Lawyer 2009 – 2016 and Listed in 5280 Magazine

*          Recipient of the 2007 MDIC President's Award for Work Done on Behalf of the Children of Colorado

*          Contributing Author to several Colorado Domestic Relations Laws

*          Testified numerous times in front of Colorado Senate and House of Representatives Committees regarding proposed Domestic Relations Laws

From 2013–2015, Beth was the Supervising Attorney for the University of Denver’s Resource Center for Separating and Divorcing Families. This project (the only one of its kind in the United States) melded mediation and legal education services with mental health and financial services. Families were provided with a multi-disciplinary foundation of support through the transition process to achieve an amicable resolution and to acquire skills for long-term use.

Beth's consistent involvement in many aspects of the family-law arena keeps her knowledgeable in the law and the issues. Because she is an attorney, Beth can give parties information about the legal process and the law as it relates to the issues being mediated. Based on her knowledge of the law, Beth can give parties realistic feedback about their case. Because of her many years of experience, Beth can suggest options for compromise and resolution. She can also identify issues that parties may have missed, which helps parties avoid confusion and conflict later.
