I received my Masters Degree in Social Work in 1982. I began my mediation practice in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1984. I moved to Colorado in 2018.
Divorce is a unique challenge. Because it is unfamiliar, the stakes are often high, and break ups have inherent interpersonal upheaval, people worry and feel overwhelmed with details and emotions. As a consequence, people make a lot of mistakes. For 30+ years as a facilitative mediator, I have organized divorcing couples. Helped them identify issues. Helped them with ideas for how to address issues. They made all the decisions. I kept track of their decisions. They left mediation with a detailed description of decisions they made.
