After 12 years of specializing in family law and divorce matters, Brandi Petterson has gained extensive, invaluable experience across all of the jurisdictions in the Denver Metro area, as well as several mountain counties, and both north and south of the Metro area. She has successfully litigated and negotiated settlements in countless high-asset divorces and complex child custody matters.

Prior to establishing Nicol Gersch Petterson, PC, Brandi was a Partner/Owner with Sauer & Petterson Family Law. In addition, Brandi was a Senior Associate Attorney with a large family law firm in the Denver Metro area and focused exclusively on family law matters prior to establishing Sauer & Petterson Family Law.  She also gained valuable insight from behind the bench during her clerkship with a domestic relations and family law Judge in Arapahoe County, Colorado.

Unique to Brandi’s practice is her keen ability to focus exclusively on her clients. She pursues their interests as if they were her own, while coupling over a decade of experience, to reach a successful resolution for her clients. At times, it may be in the client’s best interest to settle a case through mediation or other negotiations. Of course, when settlement is not an option, Brandi is an experienced litigator in all courts surrounding the Denver Metro area and beyond.

Each family law and divorce case is different. Some require numerous experts to address financial and parenting issues, and some are incredibly amicable. No matter what your concerns about your marital estate or your children’s futures may be, Brandi has the necessary experience and network of experts in the field to advocate for you. Brandi knows that when it comes to family law and divorce matters, the details can make or break your case and she has fine-tuned her practice in this regard for the past 12 years.

Families can take various forms. They are ever changing, whether it be through the addition of a child, divorce, change in custody, passing, or the like. In times of change, trust will be the cornerstone of any attorney you may employ to represent you. Brandi feels that trust is earned in every case, which she builds through knowledge, experience, voice, action and persistence.

When not advocating on behalf of her clients, Brandi enjoys all that Colorado has to offer, from the lakes to the mountains to family and friends.

Brandi Petterson was born in St. Augustine, Florida and grew up in Palm Coast, Florida. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida in 2003. While she remains a devoted Florida Gator fan and enjoys visits back to the beach, she decided to make Colorado her home because of the wonderful people and the beautiful scenery. Brandi graduated with both her LL.M. and J.D. in 2007 from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
